Folsom Lake Recreation Area (12/9/16-12/11/16)

My parents were so sweet to watch the boys for the weekend so Kyle and I could get away for our anniversary! We didn’t know where we wanted to go, then my school’s football team made it to the semi-finals for the state championship and the game was in Loomis, CA, so I found Folsom Lake and we decided to give it a try.

The campground was very nice and quiet. We were in site 59 and I wouldn’t pick that site again, but I would stay there again. Site 59 had a huge power line near it and you could hear the hum of it even while in the motor home.

Friday night we arrived and decided to go out for ice cream. We found this place called Sparkles which makes ice cream with liquid nitrogen. It was so cool and the ice cream was super creamy and delicious.

We went to the Folsom Outlet mall. It was your average shopping mall and very busy since it’s so close to Christmas. We really needed to buy stock stuffers for our boys. We found this amazing store called Brainy Zoo Toys. It’s a family owned toy store that was sooo cool! They had games, toys in all genres, plus so many other toys we didn’t even know existed for kids. It was awesome! One thing we didn’t buy but someday we want to is a zip line for the backyard. It would be awesome if they could zip line into the pool! Someday, our boys are still a few years young for it.

We saw the most amazing rig in our campground. It had a deck and hot tub on it’s roof! Had to share!

Saturday evening we went to Del Oro high school for the football game. Our drillers didn’t have their best game and lost 50-16, but I’m still proud of them. They didn’t play a single home game and made it all the way to the semi-finals for the state championship.

We woke up and took off back home. Back to reality until next time…
